The Shirakawa Kohitsuji Center (Kohitsuji means "lamb" in Japanese) opened 
in April 1975 as a facility for children with intellectual disabilities as defined
by the Child Welfare Act. In a home-like environment, the center provides professional development support to all users, with a focus on the importance of good health, and vibrant youth. The users, aged from elementary school age to high school age, attend nearby special education schools. In addition to these services, we provide day care for children ith disabilities living at home, short-term care, and support acitivities....
